A busy week for city government and my campaign ias the midpoint in June looms, but this week also includes important events of a personal nature.
Jean and I enjoyed our wedding anniversary Tuesday, unfortunately apart as she was traveling on behalf of state government in her role with the Governor's Office of Economic Development. For that reason, we celebrated tying the know early on Sunday, Our anniversary was blessed during services at St. Peter's Episcopal Church downtown., where we were married.
This week in city government includes meetings of the Parks and Recreation Commission Tuesday and meetings of the Regional Transportation Commission and Carson Area Metropolitan Organization Wednesday, among others. On Thursday, I'll pick up the Carson City Board of Supervisors agenda for next week.
Also next week, my campaign committee
, along with Jean and I, will hold a meet and greet event at our home to talk with voters and get word out about my bid to join the board after the November general election. It's on Wednesday afternoon and evening, and we're hoping for great late spring weather for the indoor-outdoor garden party style event.
The next day, I'll head for the meeting of the mayor and supervisors to continue monitoring city government actions, something I've done the past few years as a newsman but now continue as a citizen and candidate from Ward 4 to join the board.
Keep checking here for my views on various matters as the city election process moves forward. Don't forget to vote in the primary, either during early voting or on June 14. My opponent and I won't be on that primary ballot, as there is no third candidate vying for the post, but we will face off in the general election in the fall.
Thanks for reading this blog. Jean and I appreciate your interest and I seek your support, both now and in November.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
